More Online Alphabet Games

Preschool alphabet games that teach kids letters while they have fun playing are more effective than other forms of teaching the alphabet. Learning is easy if it is fun, and you can use games to help teach your children how to make the letters, as well as what they sound like, how they are formed, etc. It will stick with them for longer and they will be better at it if it is fun for them to learn. Games that help them master their alphabet skills will give them confidence and get them on the path to reading. The earlier kids learn to read, the more successful they are in life and school, which means greater confidence the rest of their life. Alphabet games can really help your child start off their learning on the right foot.

So where can you find alphabet games, and what kind of games are available? The following describes some of the most common alphabet games, and helps you find resources to teach your children so that they can learn and grow confident in their alphabet abilities.

Matching games: For a simple game you can make at home, and play no matter where you are, consider an alphabet matching game. There are a number of variations to this game that can make it fun for all ages and education levels as far as the alphabet goes.

Uppercase with lowercase matching game. For this matching game, just cut out papers and write the uppercase version of the letter on one, and the lowercase on the other. This constitutes a match. Having this will help kids recognize letters better, no matter what version they are in. Make sure they say the letters as they turn them over.

Letter with letter. The most simplistic matching game to make is just letter to letter, where they are both in capitals or both in lower case letters. It will help children learn to recognize letters out of order.

Letter with picture that starts with letter. This is a fun alphabet game for the child who is already advanced past the recognition of letters, and is more concerned with learning the sounds associated with each letter. For this, write the letters on one part, and a word that starts with that letter on the other.

Online games: These are games you can play when you are near a computer, they are a great way to help your kids learn computer skills and the alphabet. The following are a few sites with alphabet games, and some of the games on the sites:
